The City of Sioux Falls has been centered around the falls ever since the founding of the city in 1856, starting with the wheat mill and the light and power building. Now the falls are visited by not only the locals, but tourists with their pups, photographers with their cameras, and children explorers.
“This park is such a great thing for our city,” states a local named Jay. “You can learn our Sioux Falls history, or just relax and enjoy the sound of the water.” The park can be visited all season long, even in the winter months when the spectacular Winter Wonderland light show happens every night. In the summer there is a Farmers Market that happens every Saturday morning.
Marilyn, a visitor to Sioux Falls with her family says, “The cascading waterfall is amazing and beautiful! Easy parking, and plenty of viewing areas and benches. Truly a gem of Sioux Falls!”
